Cosmologie portative

Cosmologie portative is a solo exhibition by Alessandro De Francesco which took place at Celador art space in Brussels, Belgium, in September 2025. The show was curated by Antoinette Jattiot and hosted by Celador curator Yann Chateigné-Tytelman.

The show featured a new sculptural piece realised with stones found by the artist during two trips to North Yorkshire, accompanied by a lecture-performance by the artist himself, which reflected upon
sculpture and artistic practice as a form of agency by the environment.

Two other main pieces were presented: an immersive and interactive textbased installation in Mixed Reality with wireless motion tracking and a sound installation with digitally processed spoken voice, both featuring a poem in four languages written by the artist during his travels to the UK.

Some of the artist's books were also conceived of as an integral part of the show and exhibited as such.

The exhibition was accompanied by a printed interview between the artist and the curators and a limited edition of three photographs by the artist taken during the research trips. A second phase of the project will take place at the Villa Rondinelli Foundation in Fiesole, Italy, in 2026.

The sound piece is available for listening HERE.
